                            THANK YOU

to all that came and enjoyed the open house. There was quite a good time held by all.  BUT the fellows put together some terrific showmanship of fun and magic; so a big thank you to Ace, Bill, Dave, Dave (yes, both our Dave's) and of course Pete who entertained the folks with balloon sculptures.  What a great time!  The pictures are all on the website.

Policy Reminder from the President

The IBM Ring Reference Manual states that, “The simple objectives of the IBM remain the same: to organize and associate together individuals interested in the practice and promotion of the Art of Magic, to foster and elevate the Art, to facilitate the exchange of magical ideas and to promote harmony among those interested in magic.”

Whenever we, as members, are in the public performing we should always keep the “promotion of the Art of Magic” as our number one priority. That means we should try to mystify and entertain our audiences, not unintentional alienate them.

There are some topics that strike high emotional cords, often negative ones. For instance, Politics and Religion. You will most likely offend somebody in any general audience if you promote your own beliefs in these areas.

If you feel strongly about your Political and Religious beliefs and want to use magic to get your messages across to others, then go ahead. You are doing nothing wrong. Just do it on your own time, not our Ring’s time. It is not our purpose.

As a reminder, whenever you are representing the IBM at our meetings or in public performances strive to entertain, and leave our audiences and our members feeling good.

Remember, that the National IBM and our Ring’s objective is: “to promote harmony among those interested in magic.”

Peace,
Ace
