  COMPUTERS AND FRUSTRATION

Rowdy’s computer crashed.  Poor Rowdy!  Therefore, Cliff is doing the newsletter this month, and he may not have everybody’s email.  So if you don’t get this email, let me know, and I’ll send it to you  . . . THAT’S A JOKE!

  THE JANUARY MEETING

A great big thank you to Nancy “Rowdy” Rosekrans, Scott Payne, Pete Beeble, and Bob Connors for making last month’s meeting on ventriloquism and puppetry such a success.  The meeting was fun, informative, and very well attended.  If we count all the puppets, there were over a hundred in attendance. Now, if Harry could find a way to get all the puppets to pay dues, our money problems would be over. Good luck, Harry.

      THIS MONTH - MAGNETS, MAGNETISM, AND MAGIC, OR MAGIC THAT ATTRACTS.

By way of introduction, Dave Mc Clements will demonstrate some of his super, and often original, ideas for using magnets to create baffling effects. Dave has some of the best magnet tricks you are likely to see anywhere.  His ideas for using reed switches are at the cutting edge of magical invention. 

Also by way of introduction, Cliff Bruce will explain the difference between a magnet and magnetic material.  He’ll demonstrate how magnetic items can be turned into magnets, and non-magnetic material can be converted into magnetic material.  Cliff will also explain something called “Newton’s Nightmare.”

Everybody must have at least one trick that uses a magnet.  If you do, bring it along for the open-mike portion of the meeting.  If you don’t want to do a trick with a magnet, just bring your magnetic personality and do whatever you want to; I'm sure you'll do great.

Our March meeting is now listed as TBA (To Be Announced.)  If you have an idea for a program you would like to put together, let Cliff know quickly, and we will schedule it for next month or any month you like.
